This set shows off a selection of Tenniel's beloved illustrations, coloured for the shortened version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865), The Nursery "Alice" (1889–90): Alice, The Queen and King of Hearts, the White Rabbit, the Caterpillar and The Duchess.
About the Artist: Though his primary occupation was as a political cartoonist and illustrator for Punch magazine, Sir John Tenniel is now primarily remembered for his wood-engraved illustrations of the Alice in Wonderland novels. Lewis Carroll’s original novel remains one of the best-loved fantasy tales, with his characters enjoying an enduring legacy in popular imagination and Tenniel’s charming illustrations have, of course, come to symbolize Alice for many. The fantasy world on the other side of the rabbit hole has influenced literary retellings, artwork, music, film, and pushed the boundaries of the magical world by reminding us there is no limit to the madness or the creativity of the creator.
SUSTAINABLY SOURCED. These garlands are free of plastic packaging and created using FSC-certified card. Flame Tree actively strives to promote ethical development and environmental conservation.
