Excessive flattery, deep knowledge and passion about a particular book or project, an intense desire to work with you. Sound familiar?

Every day we receive queries from anxious writers checking if the apparent interest from our fiction editors is genuine. I'm sorry to say, it probably isn't. Publishers are generally overwhelmed with submissions and rarely reach out to individuals. That's not to say your work is not brilliant or perspicacious, but with several hundred book submissions every month and thousands of short stories over a year, we don't have the time to reach out to possible authors.

The main clue to a fraudulent attempt to gain your trust is the use of a similar but not entirely accurate email address. We only use flametreepublishing.com or flametreepress.com. Also, we do not ask for any fees, or contributions, and we do not offer additional services.
